As It Falls

This is an illustration that I have to utterly cite for it's inspiration, so Kai this one's dedicated to you my friend Kai's an illustrator whom I have great respect for his imagination and fantastic digital paint work. It came as a nice surprise to me he's a fan of Vulne Pro's work and the Theos project but I made it clear to him I'm a big fan of his work as well It was his last Starship Troopers inspired posting [link] 100 Years of Force that inspired this particular piece. I just felt like doing something new free of a NDA for a change XD

Clearly I did my own groove here as the intention wasn't to do the same thing, I think some old school SF3D informed the look of this a great deal and maybe even a little Halo snuck in there too (being it drops today at midnight hard not to. Dual wielding baby!).

The mecha are some sort of hard suits 'o' the apocalyptic futua' blasting away at whatever ideologies are unpopular at the time. I'm guessing scary stuff like this often do that kind of thing. The weapons are firing caseless rounds so no shells popping out all over the place. I kept the piece a bit loosey goosey with certain areas getting some tighter polish. The game plan wasn't to be perfect but quick and dirty. I've been busy as hell over the summer with little time for doing any work not related to the projects I had been involved with. Being those projects are winding down I plan to get back to posting a lot 'o' new stuff. This one's the first, of hopefully many, full digital paints to come.

Once again this one's for you Kai, keep of the damn impressive work my friend and you'll always inspire others to do the same.
