Combat TAEDUS Divinus Tessko by VulnePro Combat TAEDUS Divinus Tessko by VulnePro
The first peek (with more pending) at one of the principal characters of Whispers of the Deep. This guy is a taedus use partner to one of the main human characters; a young woman named Veena. :icongenocidalpenguin: designed a second taedus (another character Divinus works with), to be posted in the future.

A TAEDUS or T.D.S. (Telepathic Defense System) is, essentially, a bio-mechanical (sendai) who's role is to be shield, combat, and investigations, augmentation for a human use partner. These human to sendai arrangements are typically called use systems, in which a human uses a sendai for specialized policer, military, or investigations work.

Some of these use system arrangements are one sided affairs with the human having the controlling influences over the sendai. More commonly it's an open two way mutual arrangement because most humans in dangerous lines of work (policer/investigations) value their skins preferring a reliable combat partner.

This taedus is manufactured by Ileman-Loch (also a manufacturer of Polemon combat FOILs) and is clearly a fifth gen design style. The device on his left arm is not a weapon, it's actually a high powered sensor array, as are the plates on his left leg and back. Taedus are typically extremely custom friendly combat frames so it's not uncommon to see a taedus modding itself frequently.

Divinus Tessko is actually his given name and not a model name. Like most sendai Divinus stands approximately 4 feet tall, give or take. Though sendai are small in size they're fiercely dangerous in combat so humans really have to use some form of sendai use system (usually taedus) to do policer work of any kind.

Digitally inked pencils gray scale toned in CS3.

Are you working on any sort of game, whether it be paper or computer-based with all of your work? :D

My thanks :)

I have worked on both video games and pen & paper stuff but all the Theos KE Polemos material is my studio's own original I.P. so it's not intended, specifically, for a game, though it could be made into one certainly. The material was intended as an animated TV series pitch but when the economy took a dumper the focus shifted to just having fun with it, keeping it open and flexible to possibilities. That said it's still a serious project for potential TV. I should be talking more about what out plans are sometime soon.

Oh man, I'd love to see a series with your designs! Best of luck with whatever direction you take your I.P. into. Must be very exciting...!

Can't wait to hear more about it :)

P.S. - Is "GenocidalPenguin" a member of your studio? Just wondering about his relation to your designs and universe as you two seem to do a lot of collabs.

We'll see where things go but whatever direction it is we have no intention of just dropping it and giving up. You can expect, in some capacity, the material to continue. As long as I'm able I plan to share this stuff with you all. My thanks for the support and enthusiasm :)

Genocidalpenguin is a part of the project and, more or less, the studio as well :) He does his own thing and does stuff with us as well. All around a talented fellow and mad Viking puncher of polar bears.

Genocidalpenguin's description was priceless :lmao:

Sounds really great man, like I said previously - I hope you find a lot of success in whatever you chose to do. Your designs and settings are certainly unique and flushed-out enough.

An android?
I was wondering what they'd look like in this universe.

Not really an android as this is a living biological/mechanical creature, not a robot. It has a great deal of organic components to it's makeup but is, clearly more machine in structural design. So this is closer to something like a cyborg in nature than an android.

There are things like androids running around in the setting though and they would be similar-ish, visually, to stuff this but a different beastie altogether.

I see...
So the organic components are more internalized?
