Another Theos weapon, this time by Dies once again. Those of you following the Theos work might find this one familiar.

The Dies Stein Assault Shettier 23, or SAS 23 as it's more commonly known is a weapon that has been in service and circulation, throughout SOL, for nearly a century. Falling roughly in the late 2nd gen period the SAS 23 has been renowned for its accuracy, ruggedness, and reliability in the field. Dies has continued to make the weapon with little modification or cosmetic changes. The SAS 23 of the early 5th gen is much the same as the first examples to enter service all those decades ago during the late 2nd gen to early 3rd gen period.

The SAS 23 has been combat tested in the Polemon theater by both Polemon and Indus forces and is also widely used by Indus Empear Policers. Firing high velocity shetts (often SABOT rounds) the weapon's accuracy and penetrating power are incredibly formidable. Favored as an anti-sendai or anti materials weapon the SAS 23 is not available to the public on Indus. Being the HV rounds are prone to go right through buildings, pipes, etc.

Although great care is advised by those authorized to use these weapons the damage they often can do to the environment on Indus is significant. If you're a fan of copious piles of paperwork than, by all means, shoot up a building's duct system or any number of the mysterious pipes that are ubiquitous to Indus. You'll be filling out a ton of forms and dealing with fines galore.

The SAS 23 pictured here is also the property of the Empear Policers of Jaämas 115 E-G bloc as the previously posted Dies SMS 65HV was. This example was manufactured early 5th gen, hence it's immaculate condition. Again the markings on the front are district bloc coding and the number 16 simply indicates it's cataloging with this Empear precinct.

This is a full color update of the weapon, 2nd bottom right, in this collection here: [link] The example in that posting has a sendai arm mount attachment in place of a stock. The SAS 23 can also have a retractable stock as well. Though I wasn't consciously going for an H&K G3 vibe, when I initially designed the first version, you could think of the SAS 23 as TKP's G3 equivalent to a degree. You'll note that the clip has an ammo counter on it, which indicated the SAS 23 was designed more for humans in mind as sendai would not really need to keep track of ammo use through sight memory. The weapon can be used by sendai though and, as with other shettier, can be mounted with sendai optics gear and custom mods.

December 20th EDIT: I contemplated some tweaks on the rifle right after posting it and with the addition of comments by posters below I have made some edits to smooth out a few issues. The sights were enlarged a bit to bring up the LOS clearance. The bigger problem was the original stock was too high and the grip too big so I shrunk the grip and adjusted the comb drop on the stock to make it lower which helps LOS and also the visual balance (smaller grip). It needn't be perfect, just enough to alleviate the issues a bit more effectively.
