Ileman-Loch Sobeq FOIL

Ileman-Loch has carved out a name for itself in FOIL development despite being one of the smaller manufacturers in the continued development of these machines. Their designs are often more animalistic in form than some of the more elegant and artisan driven FOILs but clearly an Ileman-Loch FOIL is driven by it's own sense of aesthetic as illustrated by this rather sleek armor frame here.

This example is a Vulne Consortium Faedai and thus would be in service of The Polemon Crimson Trust. On the FOILs top left veneer fin it reads Val Voso Tems, whic is the region on Polemos the FOIL is stationed. The cammo pattern more in line with the tropical locales of Val Voso.

The FOIL is holding a rocket propelled spear (those of you following the Theos project will note was the first to get an illo out the gate with one of these weapons for his first Theos post [link] ) which is typically more of an infantry FOIL support weapon but CAV FOILs have been known to use them as well.

It's name, Sobeq, is a mutation of Sobek, the Egyptian Crocodile god. Often FOIL names will come from the artisan's little knowledge of what history humanity has left, sometimes naming a FOIL with little regard for the word's original meaning. Here, clearly, they had an inkling as the FOIL's elongated head has a rather crocodile appearance to it, a very Ileman-Loch stylization indeed.

Once again the FOIL was fully painted on a Wacom Intous 9x12 in both Photoshop CS3 and Painter X
