I can haz the third dimenzion?

Indeed I haz!

Clearly this is a thing that is in the three of dees and I haz made it. OK, enough of that.

I can now, officially, say TKP has stepped into 3D in a serious way. Yes, I have posted some early examples of Zbrush (and even some Maya work I dabbled in 2007) works, with an earlier WIP of this beastie posted last month:

however this post is a fully realized piece. This is something you can see as a kit or a toy, or simply a realistic representation of the original 2D concept it was based on:

This was both absurdly fun to work as it was maddening because it was, essentially, my "lab rat" sculpt so mistakes were made aplenty. That said, as much as mistakes are there I've learned an absurd amount of this program (Zbrush 4r2) and this build is only the beginning :) I wouldn't call this a perfect model or functional for animation/games work, it's purely a display build, and that's fine. The objective for this sculpt was to create a reasonable representation of one of my 2D designs and to learn as much as possible during the process. For the first "finished" Zbrush model, even with the mistakes I know are there, I'm IMMENSELY happy with it. I love this program. I will never stop drawing with a simple stick and graphite but Zbrush is the future of my work with TKP, I knew that years ago and it's in razor focus now. I'll post a few more views shortly.

More to come indeed :)

All work, paints, markings, and weathering included, in Zbrush 4r2. Only my sig and the TKP logo were done on CS3

My thanks :) It's been awhile in the making but, yeah, pretty much adding 3D to my "toolbox" in a big way. More to come, likely soon ;)

Cheers!

Thank you, appreciated!

Hard to really peg down the actual time to be honest (I'm primary care giver for my Father who has memory/dementia issues. Time isn't always free so I work on stuff when I can). I worked on it off and on, start and stop but it was about the least two to three weeks that I was really working on it. Additionally the fact that I used this as my mad science lab sculpt to really learn Zbrush also factored in I suppose. The next ones will likely go faster, and so on.
