A full on digital CG paint I did, last year, of a combat FOIL and yet another Theos piece. This one is flat out a more realistic look I suppose, not perfect but I went more for a realistic render. I'd prob do the clouds a little different with a variant in the future but clouds are so random it's not really a big deal, they're just a bit too bubbly to me. Seems to have lost its gun. Don't know why but I was compelled to put a smiley on the radar dish behind the cockpit.

Thanks a lot man :) I have so many yet to post, some done and many in-progress. Once I have more time I plan to be belting out a lot of new designs, I love doing this as much as I'm sure most of you guys do and it's good to be in the company of such great talent here with all you other fantastic designers as it inspires one another to do great work.

I don't know why, but there is something really apealing to triangular shapes in mechanical creations. They just seem to ...work...better than other shapes. I point to the pauldrons and the 'jet' areas on this FOIL.

I would have to agree, there is something about triangular angles and shapes that seems to imply something sleek and futuristic. Some of it might have to do with our, now, subconscious images and notions of “stealth” design philosophy. A good deal of stealth aircraft obviously have this otherworldly angular feel due to their wacky radar reflective designs and it does have this futuristic and wild look. I think some of that crept into this painting and as I post more stuff some will have angles like this, others will be more organic and curved and some with both. Thanks for the fav by the way ;)
