I was aware but that was simply a coincidental added layer of icing here. In TKP E.O.S. means Eye of SOL and it's deeper meaning is regarding a perceived view (more ideology) of Indus being the center of the universe. Still with various Greek themes going on as well it was a happy accident there's that layer as well but it's not the intent.

My thanks!

I actually discovered Nihei's work many years after this project began (along with the aesthetics of the planet Indus which were established in the early 90s) so Nehie's work didn't really influence me. One of my close friends living in Japan sent me Blame! because the setting looked so similar to what I had been doing so once I saw it I dug his work right away, kindred spirit you could say ;) Love Nihei's work though for sure, his mind seems to occupy a lot of the same kinds of place I enjoy an attraction to vast industrialized spaces. It happens no matter how original you think you're being.

I think it was Otomo who said himself that originallity is a troublesome word. I bet it happens to everyone once in a while.
Like in the history of lightbulb, previous knowledge or understanding leads to similar conclusions.
Or like trees in mythology o-O they are everywheeeerre

I'm a firm believer in the pursuit and aspiration toward originality but that said you have to contend with all of human history and the fact that there's over 7 billion (now) souls on this planet. Inevitably somebody else has thought of something similar, the odds are in favor of that. Understanding this isn't a blank check to be lazy and seal others ideas, it's simply understanding the realities of the creative process itself. It's an individual's personal perspective that spins ideas into a framework that creates something new.

Otmomo is a wise fella indeed.
