Oshen-Dies Kharma Actura FOIL by VulnePro Oshen-Dies Kharma Actura FOIL by VulnePro
Recovering from an evil cold that kicked the crap outta me last week so this guy was actually planned to go up some time ago.

The Kharma Actura is another 5th gen creation of the collaborative efforts of Oshen and Dies. The result of their efforts continued to yield sleek and aggressive beasts such as the Kharma Actura. Aggressive lines with a minimalist approach. The efforts of Oshen and Dies resulted in some of the most refined and effective FOILs ever to grace the battlefields of Polemos. Unfortunately these faedai were of the last of the era of the FOILs as their time was approaching it's close.

The name Kharma Actura is the result of the growing influence of the sendai Hindai movement. Obviously with some connection to Hinduism of humanities ancient past the Hindai movement is something that began entirely with the sendai and with them the first pangs of the return of some form of tangible spiritualism in SOL begin.

On the design of this guy I have to cite :icongenocidalpenguin: as influencing aspects of it's look as I decided to mash up some visual cues between the two of us on a few of the current FOILs I had been working on. Obviously it's the legs with this fella that has some aspect of GP's touch though I did my own thing, as I always do, and what resulted was this :) There is a pretty epic Vulne/GP FOIL pending posting so stay tuned.

Blown up light boxed pencil thumb with digital ink clean ups. Color in Photoshop CS3.

More pending as my brain recovers it's lucidity.

Cheers!

I really like the proportions on this one- like jodhpurs. I'm glad you're finally feeling better, and that your father is recovering nicely.

Thank's Mike, glad you dig the beastie. There's another one pending of the same vibe only it's a bit more striking I think, or my fav of the pair. I am feeling a a lot better and my thanks for asking about my Father, he's still doing really well :)

I hope to catch up with a lot of stuff so I will be posting more, including more of those wallrider machines. I'll try to catch up with you about those at some point here soon if you're still interested.

Best!

I'd buy highly articulated toys of your mecha designs.

I can see that potentially happening at some point in the future :) I'd love to see something like that too as they probably would make some nifty toys and I wouldn't mind one myself XD My thanks :)

Thanks G, glad you dug it :) It's been kinda crazy, as I'm sure you know, so some work has been delayed. The Vox character posting is still coming, not forgotten ;) Hope you're well!

Best!

Thank you for the kind words :) It's just many years of practice, looking in unusual places for ideas, and development of personal style. I simply suggest keep working at it.

Look at designs you love for inspiration and to dissect how they got there (though you can only do this on a surface level not being the actual artist who's work you're observing) as best you can. You can learn a lot doing that, however in order to really develop your own style look at all kinds of things unrelated to what you're attempting to design. If it's mecha, look at things that aren't mecha for ideas, torso, arms, heads, shapes, etc. The more you do this the more things come alive with your own unique way of assembling all these unrelated ideas and source and, hence, you develop style :) Hope this helps!

My Father continues to do well so my thanks, as well, for asking :)

Wow, I've never seen anyone actually give advice. My style's kind of weird, I've never drawn mechs before (never had to), but I wil most definitely keep this advice in mind! Thank you so much :D

And I'm glad to hear he's doing well, man.

All I can say is thanks for the new lovely FOIL design! One of the best things to find in the 'ole devwatch inbox. Dig the rather low-key color scheme.
And as always, the promise of imminent new Vulne/GP work is great to hear!

Hope that recovery continues to go smooth! How's your pop, BTW?

Thanks Rob, I appreciate it :) Indeed there are more coming. There's another one along these lines only it's a lot more striking I think and, yes, there are a lot of GP and Vulne/GP FOILs yet to surface. Cold is gone and my Father seems to be doing pretty well, though he has another check up on the 26th. Hopefully he'll continue to fare well but he's doing fantastic so far :)

Interesting. Wasn't going for a beetle but I can see how you might think that. Thanks :)

Interesante. No iba a un escarabajo, pero puedo ver cómo puede pensar eso. Gracias:)
