Oshen-Dies Mana Vishu FOIL by VulnePro Oshen-Dies Mana Vishu FOIL by VulnePro
>>> Transmission start...

First full paint Theos combat FOIL for 2013... for Febuary we get the Oshen-Dies Mana Vishu in sexy red with go faster stripes livery.

The Mana Vishu is another 5th gen high performance combat FOIL. The, now familiar, visual cues are all to be seen here; covered limbs with customization ports, aggressively sleek aeroframe body with an emphasis on speed and visually implied forward momentum (some fractal futurist/cubist surfaces), an enigmatic sensor array (the device with the forward antennae behind the head cowl), and performance stats tailored toward a mysterious new looming threat. This is another example of renowned taedus and FOIL manufacturer Oshen teaming up with it's former main competitor (in terms of sheer quality though still unmatched by Oshen) in order to meet this looming perceived threat with the best technology Polemos has to offer in order to confront it. Oshen was a proactive force in developing the 5th generation evolution of FOILs. Many suspected Oshen had inside information regarding the threat that was coming and, thus, took bold steps to prepare. Another example of the Oshen-Dies partnership is the RES CM Nal-Farbute FOIL seen here: [link]

I had fun working on this one, been wanting to do another red one for some time and this seemed perfect for it.

Download for high resolution image.

More TKP works pending including FOIL beasties. Transmissions to continue >>>

It looks like a humanoid version of the ULTIMATE type of fuselage loadout from SolaToRobo from beating the game several times and then paying 60,000 rings for the ultimate fuselage.

controls (IMPORTANT for the ultimate type) :

If you Hold A and release with the ultimate mech  you can grab things with greater reach. If you hold A and allow yourself to get hit damage is MAJORLY reduced by a blocking with the arms technique to protect the pilot and stand your ground, though shielding causes immobility and you have to release the button to be freed from immobility.

If you press B ten immediately press it again you do a rocket dash, which is a dash that can be controlled by the D pad. hold B to get a more advanced version, release to send  a wave of power surges at your enemies and actually get a reaction out of them, press B and while in mid air to hover, good for avoiding bosses lasers and other jump-timed hazards.

press Y to dismount (obviously), press A and while holding an enemy in its "combo ring" press A and a series of

button mashes on the D-pad, whatever direction you button mash the D-pad in affects the move.

wen A is rapidly pressed while the enemy is in mid air; this causes more damage.

I hadn't intended for an Asuka unit 02 paint scheme when I chose the colors but it was clear they evoke that. Red with yellow-orange and white accents just looks damn nice for designs that have an aesthetic sense of speed and power. Perfect example of this: Ferrari, it's clear that was inspiration for Unit 02 colors as Red Ferrari's sometimes have yellow accents.

Thanks for posting!

Nice exaggeration on the leg and hips. It gives me the impression this was built for speed.

Interesting how the examples from this new FOIL line have these distinctive, seamless covers protecting the knee & elbow joints. Is this the nano-tube armor mesh in use?

Hey there RyujinDX, happy to see you drop in, it's been awhile :) Yeah, the limbs are covered with something to that effect. As you found on the Nal-Farbute posting I have noted it but never got into detail because it, like many things regarding the FOILs, is somewhat a mysterious application of some rather enigmatic (though taken for granted in the setting) technology. I see the material as having the qualities of fabric but is really a type of nano armor and incredibly strong. Also it just seemed to be a visual aesthetic that just kinda took off with the FOILs and felt right as the signature look of the 5th gen designs, to make them distinct from the older generations.

It's been a crazy previous couple of years that kept my posting to a crawl. I hope to make up for that this year so I plan to be posting a lot more. I hope to see you posting more of your fab work as well man and catch you here on DA time to time :)

Thanks and best!

i think so, the flexible armour (especially on the backs of the knees) is a distinctively 5th gen trait (and a motif in very late 4th gen foils).

nano tube mesh, where has vulne talked about that? can i get links? i haven't read anything about that.

Gainax should have given unit 02 this paint job.

i like all the 5th gen foils, and the red is a nice change of pace. sexy indeed.

Yeah, funny I wasn't consciously thinking of Unit 2 when I did the flats for the color scheme, I just went with colors that were visually appealing. That said, yeah, it does have a bit of an unintended visual nod to unit 2. Fine by me.

Most kind thanks :)
