There's a bunch of stuff coming and this collection of head shots will kick things off.
Here we have some detail shots of Divinus Tessko's unique head design. Divinus is one of the principal characters in the Whisper's of the Deep TKP project we have cooking in the studio's easy bake oven right now. To see a full body shot of Divinus you can see that here:
The aesthetic style of this guy's head is actually a nod to my old style of drawing taedus designs from the early 90s. I have one of those older designs in the gallery now (a design which will be getting some updates but remaining mostly intact visually) and can be seen here:
So I wanted to bring some of that original styling that I came up with into this newer material. Afterall it's the aesthetic that started it all for the Theos work and I still like a lot of what we did back in the early 90s (well enough to work with). In many ways it's an old school look wed with some modernistic sensibilities.
More Whisper's work to come...

Pretty much ALL my designs begin as small thumbnail roughs. I always rough the stuff out as small thumbs because it forces you to focus on form and silhouette rather than detail. I've been doing this stuff for so long though that I can usually even rough out the base details in my thumbs but the exercise is the same, still focus on form.
Oh that's interesting. I'm practicing, well trying to get a good start on how to make bots and cyborgs and such. I've been using standard size printing paper when i do my sketches and make circles and squares, whatever the shape I wanted the bot to be. That hasn't really been working out too well. So starting just a bit smaller would that help?
Very cool & stylish, Mike. Love the forward pronounced brow and the lower 'snout'. For me, reminiscent of a Goblin shark: [link] Also dig the position of that mandible eyeball. Especially the queer look he's giving in the left middle view. Great angle. The 'noir' high contrast treatment at bottom is striking as well.
My thanks Rob The design was something more focused on character in the face so all the impressions people have been getting are good. The Whispers of the Deep project will be all black & white so it will be a flat out film noir Theos project. You'll be seeing a lot more of this stuff
