Indeed, these are the Terran Trade Authority Minnows from the book Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD. Any of you out there who are familiar with the books will know they are based on a painting by Colin Hay and that I added C1 to the designation because mine are a tad different. This CG paint is for brand new reprints of the TTA books [link] being published by Morrigan Press [link] who has purchased the rights to do this material as a pen and paper RPG. A pretty cool blast from the past if you ask me
I will be doing CG paints more in the tradition of the originals and this is the first one so far, it’s also nothing like the original in the book. I figure any paints I do I want to do new colors on the ships, new settings, etc, just have fun with it. This piece is mostly done, save some additional tweaks (my PC has been doing random shutdowns using heavy RAM cruncher like Photoshop, it’s the fan, dirty again). I still plan to do more work in the BG and such. I wanted to post it now to get the word going on the new project. Something a little different, some classic old school sci-fi, I dig
06/05/2006 Edit: Never had time to upload the finalized version of this piece until today. Some alterations color adjustments and contrast alterations. Copyright Morrigan Press 2006
nice atmosphere and lighting... but the spaceship design is kinda odd and boring..

like how you colored it.. all the lighting and stuff.
Thanks man, very kind words indeed Yeah it does have a Star Wars vibe but that's pretty much due to the fact that the original TTA books this game is based on came out in that time period and the original paintings in the books were done during the 70s and early 80s, or thereabouts.

Indeed it has a bit of a Star Wars vibe, the original Colin Hay, painting this piece is loosley based on, was done around the time the first Star Wars came out. I don't know the exact year he painted it but overall the art in the original TTA books were from that time period. Thanks for the good words
