Karl :icongenocidalpenguin: just dropped a short post on the Vulne Pro featuring a peek at some of the work he did for the new Thundercats cartoon on CN. Karl did some rather extensive work on the show doing the designs for the lizardmen mecha, their weapons, catapults, etc. Good to see him post some of this work as it was a really cool gig for him to be a part of. As any of you that follows his work knows, he's a mad talented polar punching Swede.

Also, I forgot to note that we ended up creating a secondary Vulne Pro tumblr account so we could have a group blog there. At the moment, myself and :iconnidaram: have been posting stuff there. Apparently with tumblr you have to make an entire new second blog to get a group going. Weird, kinda dumb, but fine. So we have a more laid back studio tumblr account here:

The Vulne Pro Visual gig will feature work from us and various things we dig or may go WTF at. Right now it's got arts up there.

More work is coming to DA (blog, tumblr, etc) as well. It's been a pretty chaotic year but things are finally getting somewhat back to normal and, yes, my Father is doing rather well now. Expect a lot of stuff in the coming months, so long as things go well.

Cheers!

I like both versions actually. Whoever did the network's revisions isn't exactly mech illiterate. Coulda been much worse.

Aye, the show version isn't bad at all but I like Karl's original better, it's more sleek looking in the silhouette.

Those are seriously dope! I'm impressed that the show designers are smart enough to know the right dude for the job. Can't do better than Karl for original mech concepts. It's officially on my radar now.

Only wish he'd be more active on DA so I could +fav those beauties, but obviously he's got bigger fish to fry.

Yeah, it was very cool he was the one they tapped to do those designs. I would have loved to have helped him out (as he would have being swamped at the time) but I'm beyond happy he was a busy fellow on his own :)

As to his posting, we'd like to see him post more but, no worries, you'll be seeing his stuff with TKP more and more. Just keep an eye out here, the blog and tumblr ;)

Cool design, and how great to be associated with a classic property. The original Thundercats were on the air when I was in HS, so I guess they count as classic.

You've inspired me to spend my lunchtime to do some web digging for other VulnePro projects and I unearthed some of your TTA work. I don't think that I ever mentioned what a great looking book you guys ended up producing.

Yeah, it was an awesome gig he landed there. Karl tried to pull me in to help him out but Warner Brothers had a tight cap on the budget that only allowed for him on that contract. They know about me so, who knows, possibly future work.

Thanks on the TTA work. Yeah, that was really a fun gig and too bad it went south. That situation was something we had no control over once it was clear things were amiss. It was simply a situation of an ambitious one man show publisher, with good intentions, who bit off more than he could chew. Jeff is now, more or less, the steward of TTA so it might resurface again. Can't get into any of that now though.

I was wondering what became of GP. Good to see he's still active and punching polar bears.

Aye, Karl still be artin' just hasn't gotten round to posting much of it. Nick, and I, hope to see him post more though, he's still cranking out wild stuff, Thundercats or otherwise. There's a lot of TKP stuff we'll be posting to the blog and tumblr he worked on so look out for that.

Nice to see you drop by :)
