Hoverbike Walkabout

And one more from 99. This one I’ve always liked the whole walkabout feel it has only on a well used hoverbike delio. This was all traditional media, like the pervious posting. Pencil illustration painted with Winsor & Newton Transparent watercolor, no polyurethane overcoat on this one though (I often coated my older pencil illos with polyurethane to “tint” them, somewhat aging them in feel. Polyurethane would give them a yellowed or sepia hue and typically would boost the contrast of the pencils. It’s a technique I haven’t abandoned as I plan to use it again on some newer works. This illustration was one of those you have to give it a try to see if you can things, referring to the insane cracks in the sand… of which I drew every one by hand eyeballing a photograph of how that looks in the desert. All I can say is O_O;;;; That was a lot of work. It made a nice piece though, just some cute gal in the future taking a break from her travels. At least she has a nice rifle to protect herself no? I should also note this one has faded quite a bit as well losing some of it's original contrast. The only digital edits I gave this was bosting contrast but nothing else so it remains in it's fairly faded state.

Actually the original finished illo had some digital elements which can be seen here [link] There was a pair of holo screens, the only digital added element but I stashed the original file on some CD and have yet to find it. If I do I might re-post it with the original elements but I kinda like the idea of posting it in it’s non-digital state.

Post apocalypse, wasteland, a setting in Theos? Who knows? It is what it is
