The Jiendel-Gavil Kunst Flam (Artful Note or Drumbeat) 3rd gen models were built during a time of technological experimentation and visual flamboyance in FOIL design. The Kunst Flam were medium CAV FOILs with a sleek light frame built for speed and lighting strikes. The Kunst Flam was labeled a CAV (Cavalry) FOIL but was more than capable in multiple roles and infantry duties (FOILs, in general, typically were but those specifically carrying the CAV moniker were often upheld as true stars of combat; political maneuvering by the edge of the blade in the fog of war).

The machine pictured here is T.A.C. number Alpha 42 decked out in a forest/winter style camo pattern. The nose art shows a blue "Fire Wolf". Right behind the yellow nose marking, under the Fire Wolf, is a faded collection of kill markings (Yellow Eye of SOL suns, thus making this a Vulne Consortium machine, though unmarked as such). The custom head cowl on this model is one of the Jiendel Gavil fixed style. Often these custom heads would have some kind of visual flourishes derived from long forgotten art movements of humanities past mixed with the trends current in SOL at the time. Here we have some slight touches of futurist cuts and curves in the forward face area. Staying true to it's name, the "artful notes" are present.

The Kunst Flam was a very popular combat platform with FOIL crews (both faedai and human pilots alike) and the 3rd gen models were still in service all the way into the 5th gen period, so many Kunst Flams had over 100 years in the field (not nonstop mind you). Many of these FOILs were gobbled up by aristocratic collectors and FOIL pilots that acquired enough wealth to move into collecting in their retirement from the field. This was a very coveted model.

The example here is a Kunst Flam that participated in the Siege of the Black Son. Many older FOILs were brought back into service to help face the terrifying threat the faced Polemon's during that time. Equipped with many new sensors and devices to combat their mysterious new enemies quite a few of these older generation FOILs fought ferociously when the siege began.

This is an updated version of the original Kunst Flam full paint design (it needed an update pretty badly): [link]

This one was a blast to paint so there are a lot of subtle details in the weathering, markings, etc. Please hit DOWNLOAD for a full resolution view.

Detailed and refined ink based off of pencil thumbnail (likely to be posted in a batch later). Colors on Photoshop CS3.
